Family-owned since 2007. On Lulu Island since 1958. Same family on the truck and on the phone.
The first of our family arrived on Lulu Island in 1958 — a young tradesman who took a job in the Steveston boatyards. Welding, mostly. The kind of work that taught you to take a problem apart, fix it once, and stand behind it.
His son grew up on those docks, joined the trades through roofing in the 1980s, and watched Richmond change from a town built on fish and farms into the city it is today.
And in 2007, his son — the third generation — founded Steveston Garage Doors. One truck. One phone. A stubborn rule: the family answers, the family installs, the family signs it off. Service area: Richmond only.
"My grandfather worked on the boats. My father worked on the roofs. I work on the doors. Same island, three generations."

Five years on a service truck across the Lower Mainland.
One truck, one phone, family on every job. Richmond only.
Same family. Same name. Same number.
Not a call centre. Not "Sarah, our virtual receptionist." When you call (778) 800-0769, you reach somebody whose last name is on the truck.
